Mamata keen to increase SMEs in Bengal

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Thursday said that besides attracting big ticket investments in the upcountry areas in the state, steps are being taken to boost the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Development of MSMEs has always been atop the agenda of the state’s ruling Trinamool Congress. Banerjee had promised to set-up 17 MSME clusters when she came to power in 2011. The state now has more than 152 clusters.
