Inspiration from Zomato, Foodpanda's frenetic growth: How out-of-the-box food startups are flourishing

Powai, a once sleepy Mumbai suburb that was best known for housing a 550-acre Indian Institute of Technology, has today morphed into a startup hotbed, home to over 50 ventures of all sizes. Entrepreneurs, investors and employees all cram into the neighbourhood, hunting for the next big idea. For a few months Saxena’s latest startup, Hola Chef, an online venture that caters meals made by top chefs to customers, had been cooking up a storm. Executives across Powai had begun to spread the word about their fare and word eventually reached the offices of India Quotient.
